- Yesteryday in the Viterbo’s Municipe, Mr. Stefano Vignati, artistic director of Tuscia Operafestival, introduced the third Tuscia Operafestival’s edition. There were the Major of the city Giulio Marini, the President Alessandro Mazzoli and more other more authorities. Also there were many Italian actors as Daniela Poggi, Luca Calvani, but also the Operation Smile’s rapresentant Livia Azzariti.

Really prestigious the playbill of 2009’s edition: the Inauguration Night will start on July 10th in S. Lorenzo square with a Lyric Concert titled “Va pensiero… tra il sacro e il profano” with Verdi, Puccini, Bellini and Mascagni music. The event is organized with the Operation Smile Foundation in favor of the thousand children suffering from mouth and palate deformity.

Inside the Tuscia Operafestival, there are a lot of events: Don Giovanni of W. A. Mozart, performed by a very high cast as Nicola Ulivieri and Marco Vinco; a Lyric Gran Galà eith soloists from world wide. And also the Salotto 800, an exhibition of young and international talents: Traviata f G. Verdi with a wonderful Violetta, Gabrielle Mandel, the Boheme of Puccini with Angela Hench in the Mimì’s role. But also La Buona Novella of Fabrizio De Andrè in a particular Synphonic transposition for chorus and orchestra with the extraordinary presence of Alfonso Antoniozzi and Luca Calvani as announcer.

And also David Riondino in a meeting of Music and Poetry, he will read Nazim Hikmet, Joumana Haddad, Francesco Prete texts with the presence of the Lebanese Poetess Joumana Haddad; Daniela Poggi supported by musicians Giovanna Formulari and Massimo De Renzi in the show called “Io, madre di mia madre”, a touching monologue inspired from Simone De Beauvoir and Tehar Ben Yelloun texts: the Matteo Brancaleoni 5tet, with a delicious concert between oper and jazz. Again, Company Botega’s Ballando l’Opera with Enxo Celli’s Coreoghaphies; also the Movie La Boheme opening night of Robert Dornhelm with Anna Netrebko and Rolando Villazon. It will close the Festival, on August 15th, a show dedicated to Mozart with Sinfonia Linz and the Concert for Piano and Orchstra K. 595.
